s samenkomen en diverse onderwerpen bespreken met betrekking tot het universiteitsbeleid, interdisciplinair onderzoek en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid. Waar traditionele wetenschap soms de reputatie heeft niet toegankelijk te zijn, staat de nieuwe generatie wetenschappers juist in contact met de inwoners van Leiden.
YAL heeft voor de Nacht van Ontdekkingen 5 sprekers uit verschillende faculteiten uitgenodigd die een (korte) presentatie geven over hun onderzoeksonderwerp, gevolgd door een ronde tafel discussie met andere jonge wetenschappers en het publiek.

Young Academy Leiden is a body within the University where researchers come together, and discuss various matters regarding University policy, interdisciplinary research and outreach to society. Where traditional science might have the reputation of not being accessible, as the new generation of scientist we want to be in contact with the citizens of Leiden. In this program, we have invited 5 speakers from different faculties who will give a (short) presentation on their topic of research, followed by a round table discussion including other young scientists and the audience.
