Wat kunnen planten ons leren over technologie? Kunstenares Špela Petrič onderzoekt hoe we plantgegevens anders kunnen lezen. Niet als landbouw data, maar als poëtische en kritische spiegel voor ons digitale tijdperk.

What Plants Teach Us About Technology

How do we observe, measure, and represent plant life through the lens of technology? And what happens when we do it differently?

In this talk, Špela Petrič shares her artistic research on the entwinement of living organisms and digital technologies, focusing particularly on plants. Through speculative experiments, she challenges the conventional, utility-driven ways we monitor plants—especially in agriculture—and reframes plant data as material for artistic, critical and poetic interpretation.

By turning raw data into speculative representations, Petrič opens up new perspectives on how we perceive non-human life in the age of algorithms. Her work prompts us to rethink the role of technology in shaping our relationship with the natural world — and vice versa.

A fascinating lecture at the intersection of art, biology, and digital culture.
