SIMPLE MACHINES - UGO DEHAES
LOCATION: HORTUS BOTANICUS
LABEL: INTERACTIVE
TIME: 19:30 / 21:00 / 22:30
During the performance "Simple Machines" the Belgian choreographer Ugo Dehaes shows how robots are born and trained to become dancers. He shows how he grows and trains organic-looking robots in his basement.
'In "Simple Machines" Ugo Dehaes shows the development of technology and its possible dimensions. Indirectly he reveals its dangers: we react to feelings that do not exist and build relationships with inanimate objects.' - Raphaela Portmann, Basler Zeitung
Simple Machines tries to make humans redundant in the creation process. A must for lovers of AI, interactive art, experimental dance and ethical issues. After the performance, the audience can teach robots new movements in the ARENA installation.
